We were honoured to attend the British Insurance Awards at the Royal Albert Hall this week, to celebrate the outstanding achievements made by companies and individuals within the insurance industry.
Five members of the FSB Insurance Service team (and Russ) got all glammed up for the black tie/50s themed awards ceremony emceed by comedian Katherine Ryan accompanied by the ACM Gospel Choir who kept the evening lively with a range of 50’s classics.
The British Insurance Awards are hosted by Insurance Post and were this year attended by 1600 insurance professionals. Each attendee had the chance to donate and take part in a silent auction to raise money for the Alzheimer’s society, the only UK charity investing in research into dementia care, cause, cure and prevention, as well as working to increase awareness of dementia and support those affected. It’s always good to see events like this partner with charities to help raise money and awareness for a good cause.
The team were thrilled to see some familiar faces winning recognition for their work over the course of the evening, with some of our partners winning their categories- especially two insurers we work with who took home a trophy on the night!
Our MD David (centre) was shortlisted for Insurance Personality of the Year, an accolade which went to Sian Fisher of the Chartered Insurance Institute, for all of the brilliant work she has done as CEO of our Professional Body this year. Nevertheless it was lovely to read all of the nice things which lots of prominent insurance professionals said about David and our business, giving us a great excuse to enjoy the celebrations.
Once the awards had all been handed out, and the guests all fed, Katherine Ryan introduced the evening’s surprise performers- Katrina of ‘Katrina and the Waves’, Heaven 17 and Midge Ure, who kept the party going. The evening was great fun and although there were no awards won by our team, it was a wonderful opportunity to meet many other brilliant insurers and insurance brokers, and to learn more about how we can improve to bring the best possible service to our members.
Congratulations to all the winners and we hope to see you again next year!
